Heavy Duty Heroes

Posted by Becca Knight on November 11, 2020

Like everyone on the planet, this is not what we had planned for 2020 and is definitely not what we had envisioned for celebrating our 90th anniversary. It is safe to say that plans and goals for all aspects of life, from individual living to corporate operations, have changed. Not only has this change been drastic but it has been needed to be implemented in an incredibly short space of time. As movement restrictions clamped down across the world, people stepped up in order to keep essential services and key workers moving; and among these heroes, heavy duty vehicles stepped up too.

The New Health & Safety

Posted by Becca Knight on November 11, 2020

At Hartridge health and safety is familiar territory for us. It’s a fact of our business that from time to time we work with safety risks that cannot be avoided or mitigated completely. In these cases the task still needs to be done but with additional PPE to assist us. These tasks can involve heavy lifting, operating machinery, and handling chemical substances.

Its such a drastic, hopeless situation that now is the time to call it a day, declare defeat, and shut up the garage for good. It feels like all your customers have abandoned their cars on the side of the road, like some kind of derelict highway scene from a zombie movie. It was going to be tough enough in the face of forthcoming prohibition of petrol & diesel vehicle sales, but now coronavirus has sent shockwaves across the entire automotive industry. What was the true extent of our apocalyptic-scale stoppage of vehicle usage? And how do we get on the road again?

The Next Generation Needs You

Posted by Becca Knight on November 11, 2020

It feels pretty strange out there in the automotive world. Like many other industries, teetering on the edge of collapse and recovery. Treading a fine line between being part of the world we cannot live without and yet could all go under before we have balance restored.

It can feel like all the opportunities the business needs to keep operating are all but gone, and if they weren’t already, then the stop-start nature of the covid-19 restrictions and relaxations will definitely do it. However, don’t lose hope just yet; the next generation needs your workshop.

Top 5 Add-on Services

Posted by Becca Knight on November 11, 2020

Adding on a service task while the vehicle is undertaking other work is no longer a strange idea to the customer. For example, it is now common practice, if not expected, to add on alignment services when the vehicle might be in for tyres. The public is not only educated on this concept of add-ons but they have embraced it.

Posted by Becca Knight on April 17, 2019

Lee Jacobs, Global Product and Technical Product Director at Hartridge, recently released a publication in CAT magazine which highlights how high pressure common rail is currently at its peak volume within the aftermarket and the significant revenue opportunities that are available today for workshops and garages.

He also explains how the in-depth technical knowledge previously required for diagnostics/repair has been incorporated into the Hartridge machine architecture coupled with an affordable price point opens this opportunity to more than just a specialist fuel systems workshop.
