The Sabre Cri Master was born and has immediately become a star. This is why we wanted to celebrate the 100th Sabre and take you through its journey at Hartridge!

We are witnessing the twilight years of diesel. The writing is on the wall and in the YouTube comments; it would seem that the death of diesel is imminent. On a near daily basis there is a fresh news article exposing rapidly changing perceptions and approaches regarding diesel but what exactly are these evolving perceptions towards the diesel vehicle? The final days of diesel are not as immediate as you might think.

It is easy to forget that the soot and ash trapped inside a diesel particulate filter is a highly toxic cocktail of ‘matter’ that has been purposefully prevented from being jettisoned into the atmosphere along with the exhaust gas from diesel engines. If it serious enough to be a legal requirement for vehicle manufacturers to ensure that the public are protected from breathing in particulate matter (PM) , then it follows that it is equally important to do the same for workshop staff when they are emptying out a DPF.

The Back to the Future trilogy may be great classic films but they did get a few things wrong. The distinct lack of hover boards in 2015 has hit people pretty hard. The world has been predicted to end multiple times but here we are. It’s safe to say that we aren’t that great at predicting the future and hindsight helpfully highlights exactly how far off track we were. So given how hard the future is to predict is it possible for an after sales department to see ahead and future proof the workshop accordingly? And if it is conceivable, then how far ahead is it possible to plan?

Dave Hurst is one of Hartridge’s experienced support technicians. Having been with the company for many years he enjoys the arrival of new models in the range and he recently went to Seattle to work with FSX who partnered with Hartridge to develop the new Hartridge DPF 300 Master Series. This set of machines is a comprehensive solution to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) servicing requirements including back pressure testing, soot cleaning, and thermal regeneration. Dave tells me all about his hand on experience with this new product development.

Continuing its World Tour, the Sabre CRi Master was at the 53rd International Car Show 2017 which took place in Belgrade from the 24th March until the 2nd April. The IB Trade team were doing live demonstrations of this latest Hartridge Common Rail injector tester for workshops owner from in and around the Balkans.

The concept of Response Time of a diesel injector came about with the introduction of electronically-controlled injectors used in Common Rail systems.  It is a measure of the time taken for the injector to respond to the electrical firing signal, i.e. the time between the start of the electrical firing signal and the start of fuel actually being delivered from the nozzle.

Back in the UK after a very interesting week in Shanghai where Hartridge and Delphi Product & Service Solutions (DPSS) Shanghai personnel jointly provided advice and guidance to local and international visitors from China, the Asia Pacific region, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the USA.
