5 Reasons Why The Sabre CRi Platform STILL Sets The Standard for Common Rail Injector Testing

Posted by Lee Jacobs on July 23, 2019

The Sabre CRi series (or platform) features the Sabre CRi Master & the Sabre CRi Expert. The launch of this platform started with the Sabre CRi Master, which now may be considered one of our 'entry level' benches; offering the workshop a way into the market while keeping many upgrading options open, while its sibling the Sabre CRi Expert includes all these options as standard.

This inaugural machine of our compact, All-Makes test bench range is still setting technological standards for Common Rail Injector benches to look up to. These are the top 5 Reasons why the Sabre CRi Master/Expert features the best technology available on the market.

High Pressure Common Rail Anyone?

Posted by Becca Knight on April 17, 2019

Lee Jacobs, Global Product and Technical Product Director at Hartridge, recently released a publication in CAT magazine which highlights how high pressure common rail is currently at its peak volume within the aftermarket and the significant revenue opportunities that are available today for workshops and garages.

He also explains how the in-depth technical knowledge previously required for diagnostics/repair has been incorporated into the Hartridge machine architecture coupled with an affordable price point opens this opportunity to more than just a specialist fuel systems workshop.

What does Euro 6 mean and why should I care?

Posted by Becca Knight on March 21, 2019

If you’ve heard any of the latest automotive industry buzzwords you’ll know there’s one hot topic today. If it’s not the phrase ‘emission scandal’ then it’ll be ‘emissions regulations’. With so much media & public attention on a vehicle’s emissions standards, this issue needs to be understood by any diesel garage or workshop worth their salt. In order to offer the best services for customers and to thrive in this changing diesel landscape, then it is important to understand what is meant by ‘Euro 6’ and why it matters to all workshops even if they aren’t in the EU.

High Pressure Testing is Nothing Without Control

Posted by Lee Jacobs on March 18, 2019

The significant advancements in injector technology to meet the Euro 6 emissions legislation include increased fuel injection pressure, optimised nozzle spray angles and patterns to enhance combustion, and how many injections are possible per combustion cycle. However, another technical advancement that is not so well documented is closed loop electrical drive logic to provide accurate control during the injection event and digital rate shaping to configure the profile of the injected fuel during the combustion stroke.

Understanding this essential engineering concept is vital to unlocking true control of high pressure testing. So how has Hartridge responded to provide a leading aftermarket test solution and what advanced controls have been implemented to achieve this?

Two Coil or Not Two Coil | Dual Coil Injector Technology

Posted by Lee Jacobs on February 15, 2019

Dual coil technology is fast becoming the new “buzz” word within the diesel common rail (CR) aftermarket. Due to its advanced pressure and injection control techniques, along with twin channel injector firing protocols, it initially presented a challenge for Hartridge when developing a test solution for the Sabre CRi Expert; but as we have said in previous blogs we will take the path to achieve best results even if this isn’t the easy path!

Common Rail Injector Coding & The Hartridge Mission

Posted by Lee Jacobs on February 12, 2019

The Hartridge mission, which we boldly accept, is to ensure that fuel injection components are tested according to OEM standards. We seek to do this to the highest criteria with the correct methods, even if these methods mean we can’t take a quick & easy path to providing workshops with what they need to achieve these OEM standards.

So for us CR injector coding; if it is to be done correctly, is simply a means of ensuring that an injector which passes the Hartridge test plan is then calibrated to perform as originally specified by the OEM.

Coding in a modern world | Diesel Injectors not websites

Posted by Becca Knight on February 11, 2019

Diesel injector coding is essential to get right with modern common rail diesel systems. Today’s euro 6 injectors are capable of operating at 2000 plus bar and this performance is not just the reserve of high end vehicle tuning any more.

Understanding coding & understanding the right way to code is critical for reducing vehicle running issues and customer complaints.

FERT & Why It Matters

Posted by Becca Knight on January 29, 2018

A little while ago we posted a brief article on response time and why it matters. This short and sweet article had some insights on why we care about response time so much and why, even when you have equipment with a lot of different test steps and amazing functionality, it is important to not forget the basics; such as response time. This is why we are dedicated to Full Event Response Time (FERT)
