Demand for remanufactured diesel product drives TT Auto expansion

Posted by Anne Ruff on April 03, 2012

As one of just 28 UK Authorised Bosch Diesel Centres, and fully endorsed by Delphi, Denso, Stanadyne, VDO and Zexel, TT Automotive has always remained at the forefront of diagnostic and testing technology – so it’s no surprise that the firm has recently invested in even more kit to expand their diesel pump and diesel injector remanufacturing capabilities.

Extending their existing remanufacturing workshop area by 37m², TT Auto has made space for two additional testing machines – a second Hartridge AVM2-PC, and the new high-pressure Hartridge CRp-PC – which will enable the company to boost their engineering team by two employees, and increase output capacity by around 30 units a day.car

The AVM2-PC is an advanced PC-based test stand used to ensure diesel pumps and injectors meet the required OE specification when they are remanufactured. It can test most Delphi, Bosch, Denso, VDO (Siemens) and Stanadyne diesel fuel injection systems, including Common Rail and EUI, as well as older in-line and rotary examples. The second machine, the CRp-PC, is a dedicated Common Rail diesel pump test bench capable of testing all makes of Common Rail pump, including new generation high pressure (2000 bar +) Bosch, Delphi, Denso and Siemens systems – similarly ensuring that rigorous OE standards can be reached through the remanufacturing process.

“This significant investment in new capital equipment will allow us to both future-proof our operations, and also scale up to meet the growing demand for remanufactured parts,” explains Martin Burden, Production Manager at TT Automotive. “There is a definite drive in the aftermarket towards remanufactured parts, as more and more garages and repairers recognise the benefits of an OE specification product, complete with a comprehensive warranty, at a competitive price.”car
