Hartridge wins International Trade Award

Posted by Anne Ruff on May 18, 2008

Buckingham firm Hartridge has been presented with the 2007 International Trade award – one of the Aylesbury Business Excellence Awards.

These awards are supported by many businessesHartridgeacross Aylesbury who come together to recognise local companies displaying outstanding qualities. There are several awards presented each year, including the International Trade award – this is for businesses who successfully build their presence in a global market place whilst measuring up to the standards of competition both locally and abroad.

Despite tough competition Hartridge scooped the award in this category, which reflects their primary position in the diesel fuel injection testing market. Hartridge MD Peter Smallwood said, “We lead the field in our market because we offer the most technologically advanced equipment, the widest product offering and provide comprehensive global sales and support coverage.

“This position has not come about by accident but has been achieved by the dedication of the staff and continual investment in the brand and the business.”

Investment is a major priority for Hartridge. Every year, over 7% of their turnover is spent on research and development alone to constantly drive the business forward. In addition, training of their worldwide distribution network and support capability receives significant investment. The support in Buckingham alone consists of 6 service engineers, a 24 hour help line, a dedicated training instructor and a purpose built training school.

However, Peter Smallwood is very clear about Hartridge’s biggest asset. He said “This award is due to the enthusiasm and hard work of all the people within the firm. I’m delighted that their commitment has been recognized in this way and would like to congratulate all the people who have made Hartridge the award-winning company it is today.”
