Hartridge x Delphi: Upgrade kit/MDEG repair programme

Hartridge x Delphi: Introducing the upgrade kit and MDEG repair programme

Delphi has launched an authorised repair programme for its MDEG pumps. Hartridge has the bench upgrade that lets you test them before, and after the repair.

Put the two together, and you've got yourself a brand-new revenue stream for your workshop.

Here's what you need to know.

A new service opportunity for 400,000 vehicles

More than 400,000 Euro 6 commercial vehicles on the road are fitted with Delphi MDEG pumps. Up to this point, there was only one option for your customer when they had a worn DFP5 pump: buy a complete unit replacement.

Delphi's new repair programme adds a second. You can now test, repair, and return these pumps to service in-house.

Delphi and Hartridge may be different brands, but they share a common goal: delivering quality repairs. As part of PHINIA, a global OE supplier of fuel injection systems, Delphi's repair programmes and Hartridge's testing solutions are developed to complement one another, giving workshops greater confidence in both the parts they fit and the way they are tested.

The Delphi MDEG repair programme

The programme covers DFP5 pumps used in Euro 6 F2R common rail systems. These pumps operate at 2,400 bar and manage precise fuelling inside 5.1 and 7.7 litre truck engines. That's serious hardware.

Repairing a pump and returning it to the road is both a sustainable and serviceable solution. Your customer saves money, and less hardware goes to waste. Revenue that used to walk out the door as a parts sale now turns into billable workshop hours.

Your bench needs more bar

With the AVM2-PC Upgrade Kit, existing AVM2-PC users can increase test pressure to 3,000 bar, enabling accurate testing of the latest Euro 6 common rail pumps while protecting their original investment. Better still, the upgrade is fully reverse compatible, allowing continued testing of legacy Delphi CR pumps and operation in all-makes mode, so workshops can support a wider range of applications from a single bench and maximise their return on investment.

The AVM2-PC has been the market-leading bench for over 20 years, and the new upgrade kit brings it right up to Euro 6 spec.

It covers Delphi MDEG (F2R) pumps, with F2E and F2P currently in development, plus Denso HP5, HP6, and HP7.

More application kits are in development, as well, and the kit is compatible with all your existing AVM2-PC applications.

What's in the kit?

HB435 guard enclosure

The new guard replaces the HB378 and HB422 CR base kits, and it's certified to 3,000 bar. You get:

Safety interlocks that cut the drive if a door opens

A larger working area with hinged side doors for easy access

All doors removable, plus a removable front panel

Permanent installation, so there's no pulling the guard off to fit a cam box or other accessories

New pump controller

The new controller replaces the AE31 and was developed for Delphi and Denso Euro 6 requirements. PWM valve control jumps from 12V to 24V, which unlocks the Euro 6 peak and hold test.

You also get a new pump position sensor input, an extra flowmeter input, valve control, and continuous line monitoring.

Hartridge has also engineered in capacity for future applications:

F2 pumping injectors

Closed-loop supply control

Extra response time and load cell inputs

A scaled output signal

New APC

The new APC replaces the HB401 for authorised Euro 6 common rail pump work. Inside, you'll find 3,000 bar certified components and controls, an uprated cooling circuit, an uprated flow control valve, and a built-in low-range flowmeter for return flow.

Its next-generation hydraulics deliver better pressure stability during testing, so when a number comes up on-screen, you can trust it.

New waste container

Tired of waste oil collecting in the bed of your machine? The new container routes it into its own separate tank instead, and a low level warning tells you when it's time to empty it.

magmah Touch software

magmah Touch replaces magmah Plus. It comes loaded with onboard diagnostics and monitoring, real-time dynamic values, faster data acquisition, smoother operation, and advanced user test plan creation. It works with all-makes pumps and inline or rotary testing.

It's also backwards compatible with every existing common rail pump application, both in all-makes mode (magmah Touch) and Delphi authorised mode (IRIS).

In short, every application you've bought over the years will still work after the upgrade.

Training

Whether you're installing the kit or carrying out your first pump rebuild, training is available to support you.

Our training is primarily offered at Hartridge in Buckingham, UK. For information on available courses, training options and upcoming dates, please contact your local Hartridge distributor.

Innovation you can depend on

Hundreds of thousands of Euro 6 vehicles need serviceable solutions. They need them now, and for many years to come. Delphi's MDEG programme equips your workshop with an in-house repair option. Add to that the Hartridge upgrade kit, and you've got everything you need.
