About Hartridge

Welcome to the World Leader

Since the brand formation in 1930 Hartridge has become a world leader in diesel fuel injection test equipment. In 1935, Hartridge ingeniously adapted a magneto test stand to produce one of the world’s first diesel fuel pump test stands. From this innovation grew the thriving business which today offers test equipment for all leading makes and types of diesel fuel systems manufactured worldwide.

Hartridge now has the largest share of the world market for field service diesel test equipment – no other company can compete in range or technological depth. Additionally, many of the world’s leading engine and fuel system manufacturers insist on Hartridge test equipment for research and development applications.

Facilities

Located in Buckingham Hartridge occupies a purpose built facility approximately 27,000 ft2 (2500 m2) for production, R&D and administration. This facility is supplemented by around 85 distributors globally who are considered to be an extension of the Hartridge organisation.

Hartridge products are produced for global distribution in the UK (Buckingham).

Hartridge Elements of Success

Whilst remaining proud of our heritage we continue to evolve, lead and inspire in our chosen markets. Achievement arrives through partnership with our customers, employees, suppliers and the local community all working as one for a common goal.

Research and Development Project Management

The investigation and development of new ideas is a tradition with Hartridge. The company owes its success to innovation, and innovation holds the key to its future. At Hartridge, research and development is not undertaken in an ivory tower, but is firmly based on the real present and future needs of each individual market. Contracts are strictly organised on a project basis with R&D specialists working closely with the engineers who will build the prototypes and initiate any modifications required to reduce the manufacturing and in-service costs. A considerable amount of time and money is invested to ensure that Hartridge products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability over a long operating life. This ensures that all Hartridge customers enjoy the optimum return on their investment.

Design

All design concepts are based on in-depth analysis of the customers’ detailed requirements. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, several schemes may be proposed, all of which are thoroughly explored and quantified with the customer. Once the final design concept is established, Computer Aided Design systems translate ideas swiftly into production. Critical path analysis techniques ensure that projects are coordinated to meet those all-important delivery deadlines.

Production

Hartridge has invested in advanced production control systems and state-of-the-art project management systems allowing better work flow and control of production. Assembly areas for products are arranged to cope with both serial production and one off assembly and test and are closely linked to the stores and tool room.

The Hartridge production engineering team keeps a watchful worldwide eye on the development of new production technologies and techniques. They are singularly quick to invest whenever an opportunity presents itself to further improve product quality and cut production costs.

All of this coupled with a purpose built facility ideally places Hartridge for the future needs of the diesel fuel injection industry.

Aftermarket Diesel Test

Hartridge is unique and prides itself on being able to provide solutions to both the franchised and independent aftermarket globally. With relationships with most of the major O.E providers of FI systems, Hartridge is ideally placed to offer solutions that meet individual customer needs. Hartridge is the diesel aftermarket test equipment provider exclusively for Delphi and Siemens VDO. Furthermore, it is recommended and in some cases, mandated by Denso and Stanadyne.

Custom Diesel Equipment

Hartridge continues to set the pace in the design and manufacture of custom products for diesel fuel injection test equipment. An example of a custom development includes heavy duty common rail test equipment incorporating static pressure metering (SPM) which is a patented metering technology and measurement of pilot injection using load cell technology for EUI. In line with the company’s high level of self-sufficiency, the controlling software is largely generated in-house. The software package utilised within many applications is known as MAGMAH. However, Hartridge is happy to utilise customer specified and proprietary packages such as Labview.

Support

Hartridge has a dedicated support team with an engineer on call 24 hours 7 days a week, dealing with all aftermarket and custom diesel requirements as they arise with the time differences around the World. This team is further supplemented by its global distribution network that is regularly trained at Hartridge on the latest product developments.
